For many years of my life, I managed a variety of different businesses. During this time, I've learned just how important service, aggressiveness, and new marketing methods are for any business, especially the real estate industry. In fact, I co-founded a software development company in 2011 (leadcity.com & signfast.com), and we are finally launching our real estate management software and electronic and digital signature solutions.
One thing I've learned is that it's key to surround yourself with a great team and exceptional talent, which is why I'm proud to be Broker/Owner at RE/MAX Lakes Realty. We have the best real estate brand in the world and the finest team of REALTORS and employees in the Iowa Great Lakes. Also, I've lived around Lake Okoboji my entire life, and understand the local markets thoroughly.
In 2014, I purchased the local RE/MAX Office and REMAX Lakes Realty has been #1 in sales in Dickinson County ever since; in fact I have been the #1 agent in sales production cumulatively since 2017. In the fall of 2022, my wife and I had our first child together and expecting another.
In the Spring of 2023, I decided to form a team, which we have named the BojiHomes.com Team @ RE/MAX Lakes Realty | Aaron Jones & Associates. Being with RE/MAX has been the best decision I ever made starting from day 1 as an agent.
My wife Brooke has her own team here at RE/MAX Lakes Realty, and our new addition to the family, Emersyn Sophia Jones will be an Okoboji Lake girl. Okoboji is quite simply a great place to raise a family. I have an older daughter Alexis that is in the nursing profession.
Working with buyers and sellers to list and sell homes in Okoboji and the surrounding area is just an incredible passion of mine. I am confident that you will enjoy working with myself or any of our outstanding agents. We truly understand the challenges our clients face buying and selling homes in the Okoboji market, and we will be your experts to guide the way. Rest assured that you will always come first and that you will receive Exceptional Service and Peace of Mind. Work Hard. Do Good. Be Nice.

South Shore Estates is the newest lakeshore development on Lower Gar. Here you have access to West Lake, East Lake, Minnewashta, and Upper Gar.
One of a kind Authentic Mexican Cuisine right here in West Okoboji! A local favorite and rated five stars by visitors young and old. Be sure to put this as a favorite on your list of places to not miss when you are vacationing in the Lakes area. Close to Terrace Park so if you are feeling up for a small walk you may walk from Terrace Park to the Taco House.
Referred to locally as the lake turning over the thermocline is a feature of lakes with deep water. The water on the top of the lake changes temperature much more variably during the year. On West Lake, it can reach as much as 75 degrees in July while the water below, greater than 35 or 40 feet deep is relatively stable around 45 degrees. In the fall and early winter, the top strata of the lake will cool to below 45 degrees, and then because it becomes denser, it will "sink" below the lower strata, thus, displacing it and making the lake "turn-over". In the deepest part of West Lake (near the 136ft mark), no light is availble, and hence little life is known whether fish or plant. Typically questions are raised as to why the surface water gets dirty for a short period of time in the fall, this this is the standard answer.
The harbor is a man made inlet located on the north end of West Lake. A board walk surrounds the harbor and this is one of the most tranquil parts of the lake. Homeowners in the harbor have a more affordable way to have access to West Lake, and still get to enjoy the clean waters West Lake has to offer. Homes in the Harbor typically range from about $350k to as much as $700k.
Founded in 1960, the Three Sons has been a staple of Milford, IA retail. From Herman and Emil Richter, owners, was born the University of Okoboji, a ficticious university that calls the entire Iowa Great Lakes the campus of the U of O. Part of the experience of shopping the three sons, if walking the old battered floors, and taking a trip upstairs for half price, plus a buck. Brands you would expect in Milford Iowa are abundant, such as Patagonia, Oakley, Under Armour, Tommy Bahama, and more. There are currently 2 other stores; one at the amusement park, and another near the Regal Beagle called the bridge store. No self-respecting visitor to Okoboji leaves without visiting one of their stores.
This quaint coffee shop in downtown Milford, IA is the talk of the town. You must stop in for a hot or cold drink and enjoy the atmosphere of this eclectic cafe. Locals and visitors alike enjoy meeting at this town favorite.
Boulders Inn and Suites promises to make your Okoboji vacation comfortable and relaxing. This new hotel just south of Emerald Hills golf course between Milford and Arnolds Park offers 40 rooms with suites to meet your individual needs. One of the best things about Boulders Inn is that it is within walking distance of the Taco House. For some of you, I know that can be a big deal!
Terrace Park is located in Brown's Bay on West Lake, Okoboji. It is one of the largest public beaches on West Lake and has entertained beach goers for many years. Next to Terrace Park is Boys Town out of Omaha, Nebraska. I remember as a kid spending entire days at terrace park, either riding bicycle or taking a moped (yes a moped) down to meet with friends and playing king on the dock. In 2010, the morning after "the storm", Terrace Park was carnage. Boat were stacked on top of each other. Trees were uprooted, and hoists were tossed around. Boats and other water craft were found in Terrace Park that belonged to owners on the North end of West Lake.
Emerald Hills Golf Course is one of the premier golf courses in the Iowa Great Lakes. Golfers throughout Okoboji will tell you that compared to the rest of the golf courses around, Emerald Hills is probably the most challenging. When I grew up as a kid, we lived just a half block from the back side of the course. We would sneak on with a couple short little clubs and balls we found walking the course and sometimes spent more time being chased by the sprinklers than trying to hit golf balls. Emerald Hills was owned by Gordy and Bette Benit many years ago and they can be credited with growing this course into the masterpiece it has become. Later purchased by Randy Rohlfsen and a few others, Emerald has flourished as one of the best courses around. If memory serves me right, Randy has been there since the early 1990's and has always had a strong conviction to help young golfers. He has taught and coached numerous high school teams, and they also put on a 5 day junior camp every year which has been a tremendous hit. I grew up on this course and can honestly say, you better be hitting the ball straight!
For most leisure boaters in the Iowa Great Lakes, there are 2 main hot spots to go throw an anchor, sit back, and just relax. Sometimes this will result in numerous boats tying up to one another (you may not even know your neighbor), and sometimes it results in a little more privacy where you can chill just by yourself. Every weekend, boaters make the trek across the deepest parts of West Lake to either Gull Point (North AND South side) and Miller's Bay. Thought there are many other great areas to throw an anchor, relax, and swim, these are the two hot spots. If you aren't sure where to go on a Saturday afternoon or wonder where your friends might be, these two spots would be a good start.
I wanted to share my excellent experience in selling my house through Aaron Jones and the RE/MAX team. Aaron Jones did an excellent job of marketing my home and answering any questions I had. Once a purchase agreement was signed, RE/MAX also let me use their enclosed trailer for moving purposes. Beth Toliver also was great at keeping me informed during the closing process. I would definitely recommend Aaron Jones and the RE/MAX team when you are buying or selling a property.
We had an amazing experience with Aaron! He was incredibly fast in responding to my request to view a house and provided excellent advice throughout the process. Friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful, he made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a responsive and knowledgeable realtor!
When we started looking for a location to start our business, Aaron was very helpful and easy to work with. His schedule was flexible to meet our needs. The entire process was simple and he took care of us all the way through the purchase and even after when we ran into a couple issues with the A/C and garage doors. We would definitely work with Aaron again in the future!
Aaron has a great approach and blended patience with persistence to deliver for us as his client! He spent the necessary time to get to know what was important to us and then showed us several properties to confirm what we described and pointed out the trade-off's of different attributes. We would definitely use his expertise again.
Shout out to Aaron Jones for patiently helping us search for and find a home in the Iowa Lakes area that met our desires. Being from out of state, our ability to see every house in-person wasn't always possible. Aaron graciously provided video walk-throughs for us, offered expertise and local knowledge. When we were in town, he was quick to respond to our requests, lining up home tours in short notice (even during holidays) to accommodate our timelines. Aaron helped us navigate the process from start to finish!
Aaron Jones did a fantastic job for us from start to finish. He was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. He helped us sell two properties and purchase a third all essentially within one weekend. This shows how well-connected and knowledgable he is in the lakes area. We highly recommend him for your home buying or selling needs.
Working with Aaron was easy and enjoyable. He was very helpful in the process and knowledgeable. Always willing to answer a question and set up tours. Aaron is a really nice guy and provided many tips and pointers regarding purchasing and owning the property that were beneficial.
People buying in Okoboji are all looking for something different to fit their own needs and their own visions. Aaron not only knows the Iowa Great Lakes like the back of his hand, but we he took the time to really understand the intricacies of what we were looking for and bring our best options to the forefront with maximum efficiency. We’re thrilled with our new condo, and would highly recommend Aaron and his team for their specific real estate needs as well.
Aaron was very attentive to my needs as a buyer. He has exceptional market knowledge & strong communication skills. He was able to assist in negotiating for the things I wanted. I believe Aaron has a genuine care for the client's needs!
Aaron originally sold us our lake house in 2020. We had a good experience with Aaron at that time so when we were ready to sell, we knew Aaron was the realtor we wanted to work with. He did not disappoint. He did a very good job of listing our home and shortly after, helped us sign the contract with the buyers of our home. We just completed the closing of the sale and are impressed with Aaron and his team. We would recommend Aaron and his team to anyone who is thinking of buying or selling a home in the Lake Okoboji area. Also, after we first purchased the home, whenever we had a question about a service or some information, Aaron was the person we went to. He has a lot of great contacts.
